Popeye the Sailor Man meets the Solar Phallic Gods!

Popeye is an independent sailor (or "sailor man," as he puts it) with a unique way of speaking, muscular forearms with two (sometimes one) anchors tattoos, and an ever-present sacred and ceremonial corncob pipe (or his pan pipes)  (which he toots like a steamships whistle at times). His strange, humorous, and often supernatural adventures take

him all over the world, and place him in conflict with enemies such as the Sea Hag and Bluto or Brutus. Now I think this is a relevant link to Pluto or Hades, The sea hag being a Chtulu entity or sea serpent or Gorgonite such as Medusa or or Cetus the whale a slang to sea snake or one eyed monster. Popeye also seems to like singing a song called "Popeye the Sailor Man." His hometown is a fictional town called Seawater.

Look at Brutus or Bluto's scarf around his neck. Looks like a fish tail to me.

This is Popeye's nemesis and I can see Poseidon/Neptune or Pluto influences in these two characters.

Popeye in the center of a five pointed star. A symbol of mankind. A symbol of the four elements combining to make the fifth element. With his pipe and one eye. He is also within a circle of stars.

The English practice of transcribing Biblical Hebrew yod as "j" and pronouncing it "dzh" (/d?/) started when in late Latin the pronunciation of consonantal "i" changed from "y" to "dzh" but continued to be spelled "i", bringing along with it Latin transcriptions and spoken renderings of Biblical and other foreign words and names. To avoid confusion it is easiest to transcribe Hebrew yod as "y" in English.

"I Yam What I Yam." I am that I am. Is this a play on the Hebrew name of God; The tetragrammaton?

Olive Oyle is also has the Y substitued for one of the I's in her name.  Olive oil was the official anointing oil. Although some will argue that it wasn't olive leaves and were cannabis leaves instead. But I am not here to argue that point with you. Could Olive be his vessel, his empress, his OIL Vessel of the holies, his Mary Magdalene?

Olives are a symbol of peace and also the laurel wreaths that are worn by the Kings and Roman emporers trying to emulate horns or bacchian or dionysian gods (pan like).

This confused form entered English usage in several translations of the Bible.

Greek manuscripts of the Jewish scriptures and Greek magical texts represent the Tetragrammaton is several ways. The examples above include an attempt to mimic the Hebrew letters with Greek and two transliterations. Old Hebrew is used in a couple of old manuscripts. Another common approach is to use the Greek word Kyrios, "Lord." Occasionally, we find "Adonai" in Greek.

With the Mention of Brutus that pulls in the Roman Emporers and there Pan-like Laurel or olive leave horns on their heads. Brutus was the name of the John Belushi's character in Animal House. The toga wearing college prankster.

Plot summary

It is Rush Week 1962 at fictional Faber College, a mediocre school whose motto is "Knowledge is Good." Vietnam, the Sexual Revolution and the counterculture movement are not even blips on the horizon. A 1950s mentality still pervades the campus, typified by the Omegas—the most prestigious, elitist fraternity. At the other end of the spectrum stands the Delta Tau Chi House, a repository for every campus misfit.

Two freshmen, Larry Kroger (Thomas Hulce) and Kent Dorfman (Stephen Furst), described respectively as "a wimp and a blimp", are trying to pledge a good fraternity. They first try their luck at the Omega House rush party, but they are totally out of their league. The Omegas quickly steer them to an area where they have segregated the other "undesirables": Mohammed (a Turk), Jagdish (an Indo-Aryan), Sidney (a Jew), and Clayton (who is blind).

They try the Deltas next door, despite their reputation as "the worst house on campus". As they approach, a headless female mannequin comes flying out of a window and lands at their feet. They meet "Bluto" Blutarsky (John Belushi), outside taking a leak. Bluto turns to greet them and urinates on their legs without noticing it. Another member, "D-Day" (Daniel Simpson Day) (Bruce McGill), rides his motorcycle through the front door and up the stairs, where he gives a surprisingly good rendition of the William Tell Overture—using his throat as a percussion instrument. The Deltas "need the dues" (and in Dorfman's case, he's a legacy since his brother Fred was a '59 Delta), so they are accepted and given the pledge names "Pinto" (Kroger) and "Flounder" (Dorfman).

Meanwhile, Dean Wormer (John Vernon), is trying to kick the Deltas off campus. Since they are already on probation, he puts them on "double secret probation" and tells Omega president Gregg Marmalard (James Daughton) to get the "sneaky little shit" Neidermeyer (Mark Metcalf) working on a way to get rid of the Deltas once and for all.

Flounder joins the ROTC. Neidermeyer, its pompous cadet commander, despises the overweight Flounder on sight and begins berating him. He orders Flounder to clean his horse's filthy stable stall. Two Deltas, "Otter" (Tim Matheson) and "Boon" (Peter Riegert), witness this and object to the mistreatment (only they are allowed to abuse their pledges). They take turns hitting golf balls, aiming for the horse Neidermeyer is riding. A ball eventually strikes the horse, causing it to rear up. Then, a second ball hits Neidermeyer on the head, knocking him out of the saddle. The already-spooked animal bolts, dragging a screaming Neidermeyer behind, entangled in the stirrups.

Bluto and D-Day talk Flounder into sneaking the animal into the Dean's office. They give him a gun and tell him to shoot the hated animal. Unbeknownst to Flounder, the gun is loaded with blanks. He can't bring himself to kill the horse and fires into the ceiling, but the noise of the shot causes it to have a heart attack and die anyway. The Deltas panic and flee. The next day, a chainsaw is required to remove the horse, in rigor mortis, from the office.

In the cafeteria the next day, Bluto provokes Gregg and Omega pledge Chip (Kevin Bacon) with his impression of a zit and triggers a wild food fight. Not done, Bluto and D-Day rummage through a trash bin to steal the answers to an upcoming psychology test. Unfortunately, the exam stencil had been planted by the Omegas, and the Deltas get every answer wrong. Their grade point averages drop so low that the Dean only needs one more incident to revoke their charter.

Undaunted, they organize a toga party. Pinto invites Clorette (Sarah Holcomb), the cashier at the local supermarket; she turns out to be the underage daughter of shady Mayor Carmine DePasto (Cesare Danova). When she gets drunk and passes out, Pinto is tempted to take advantage of her (an angel and a devil appear over his shoulders and have a frank discussion of his choices); in the end, he takes her home in a shopping cart. A drunken Mrs. Wormer (Verna Bloom) crashes the party (both figuratively and literally) and spends the night with Otter. That turns out to be the last straw. Wormer gets the fraternity's charter revoked, and everything is confiscated, "even the stuff we didn't steal!"

To take their minds off their troubles, Otter, Boon, Flounder, and Pinto go on a road trip in Flounder's brother's new car. They pick up some girls from a liberal-arts college and by mistake, go to a club with an all-black clientele. Some of the hulking regulars are not amused and intimidate the guys into fleeing without their dates, badly damaging Flounder's brother's new car in their panic.

Things go from bad to worse. "Babs" (Martha Smith) lies to Gregg Marmalard, telling him that his girlfriend, Mandy (Mary Louise Weller), and Otter are having an affair (in fact, they only had a one night stand, which Mandy later said "wasn't that great"). Marmalard and some of his fellow Omegas lure Otter to a motel and beat him up. The Deltas' midterm grades are so bad that they are all expelled from school (and their draft boards notified of their availability) by the ecstatic Wormer.

For revenge, the Deltas decide to wreak havoc on the annual Homecoming parade, inspired by Bluto's impassioned speech invoking the memory of the "Germans" bombing Pearl Harbor. In the climactic scene, the Deltas crash the parade with their own float. In the ensuing chaos, Bluto steals a car, abducts Mandy and drives off into the sunset...or rather to Washington, DC, as the futures of many of the main characters are "revealed" (Bluto and Mandy become Senator and Mrs. John Blutarsky).

Obviously you can also see the Bacchian or Dionysiam traditions coming out in these illustrations and within the Bacchian Gods or the Emporers who molded our society. The orgiastic drunken states of those who rule and are still being practiced at your local university. Frat parties are no different. They are still a fraternal order.

Two serpents and a Sword which represents lightening or the serpent path or Kundalini. The Caduceus or Staff of Horus or Moses.  It also represents the two pillars or the two balancing trees of the knowledge of Good and Evil. The balance of the universe.

The stability of the universe and its balancing Yin and Yang or Male and female aspects. You have the goddess, the urn, the vessel or chalice. You have the sacrificial solar god on the phallic mushroom.  The Tau or cross roads.  The resurrected king through the divine or vessel virgin.  The divine creation. The creation of Gods. The DNA serpent double helix of our DNA. The divine light of creation. In a masque of the crucifix. The Cross. The four elements coming together. Behind them is a stargate portal or wreath. A doorway or archway into the abyss. The primordial state of birth or reformation. The primordial waters of creation.

There is a serpent at his head and rays of light shooting from his head and his feet.  He is Woden or Odin. He has given his left eye to see the fates. He is Pluto or Hades seeking the Fates or Oracle. He is like a swan or Jupiter, the shape of his body. The lightening yielding Zeus or Thor. His arms make a triangle or delta. A mouth or entrance way.




Here Moses is missing an eye and appears to have Bacchian or Dionysian styled Horns.  He reminds me of a Satyr in this picture standing in an archway.  He also has a Poseidon or Neptune look to him.



Again, Moses a sculpture by Michaelangelo. He is sporting horns and the only thing missing is his hoofs for an exact replica of Pan.




I don't know if this skull is legit or not. But possible. The laurel wreath imitates the horns.




The angelic hosts or Illuminaries and  YHVH and the seven archangels. I see clouds and stars. The eastern star symbol. Or the star of Venus or Morning Star. If the light of the morning star is such an evil thing. Then why are they represented together in so many tapestries and artwork? Is there anything sinister about this photo?



This is Bacchus hanging on a cross, not Jesus. Notice that there is an ANCHOR (ANKH-OR) at his feet.  Notice the the T formation or tau formation is at the top. 2 right angles and two acute angles.   This almost looks like a dagger or sword. What about all the Eastern Stars and the Crescent? His missing face and missing anatomy could almost mold this story to fit any allegory that people decide to come up with.  The base of his feet seem to make a trident as well.






Hmmm, Bacchus again. This time he is marked with x's . X marks the spot. X's are crosses. He looks like a pirate with his bandana on.  He also looks very much like some priests I have seen with their fishy looking head-dress.  Why do they want to look like fish? Have you ever heard the story of Venus and cupid or the story of the sign of pisces? The Constellation of Pisces.

The Solar Phallic cross. Possible the world's first optical illusion or 3-D game. Stare at this photo for atleast 30 seconds and see if the sexual organs pop out at you. Maybe you only see filigree and a cross. Maybe I have the perverted and delusional mind. Perhaps many things are in the perspective of the EYE or Truth HOLDER.  The Delphic or Orphic or Phallic Oracle.

Why was the giant picking the little guy?  Why did he sling shot the rock into his third eye and kill him? Okay link the world with the cross. Looks like Venus symbol. It also looks like Neptune or Pluto Saturn's symbol (the anchor cross especially).  If you just look at the picture as a whole, what symbols stick out. Which archetypes are predominate in all of these photos? Notice how Earth is all one continent or Pangaea.

Odin hanging from the yggrasil tree. Looks fairly similar to the Crucifix of Jesus. It also looks vaguely familiar to the Hanged man done by Crowley.  He has his pan-like horns. The polarity of the universe. The Sun and the Moon. The microcosm through the macrocosm.  Resurrection from night into day.


And what about the boy who never wants to grow up? Greenman? Puck? The stories recycled again.......He has his HGA Tinkerbell to guide him to the light. Peter and the Lost boys, his tribe much like Robin and his Merry Men Or Jesus and His Apostles.



What about this one eyed Jack?  This one eyed Monster?  He has his monocerous horn. Strange that is also how alchemist referred to the UNIcorn or Pegasus.  A Cornucopia no less?

The cornucopia (Latin: Cornu Copiae) (also called the Horn of Plenty, Horn of Amalthea, and harvest cone, is a symbol of food and abundance dating back to the 5th century BC.

In Greek mythology, Amalthea (check out Joseph Mathias or Amalthea or Arimithea, I dare you too), raised  Zeus on the milk of a goat. In return Zeus gave Amalthea the goat's horn. It had the power to give to the person in possession of it whatever he or she wished for. This gave rise to the legend of the cornucopia. The original depictions were of the goat's horn filled with fruits and flowers: deities, especially Fortuna, would be depicted with the horn of plenty.

There are many similar sagas with Moses and the pharoah taking him in. With Hathor, with Demeter and Cybile. 

In modern depiction, the cornucopia is typically a hollow, horn-shaped wicker basket typically filled with various kinds of festive fruit and vegetables. The cornucopia has come to be associated with Thanksgiving (the traditional Corn giving of the Native Americans to the Pilgrims...the pious quaker style brethren) and the harvest.

The fennel stock that held the fire that Prometheus stole from Zeus?

One Eye Jack of Spades. Spades are a symbol of Death or Rebirth. The sword or shovel that digs the graves. The sword that executes a life. The electricity or storms that take a life. The weapons that execute. The fire of Air. The mental bondage. But there is also an awakening. A new philosophy.  A new minds eye and with this follows a heart of the path. Look at the serpentine infinity symbol that is the handle to his sword.  His Heart Chakra is opened up like the pictures of Jesus on the Crucifix. The crown of light. The prince.




What about this one eyed Jack King of the Pirates?  The skull and bones. The X that marks the spot. Why are there three lines over his mouth. Reminds me of the Hebrew letter shin which means Fire or Tooth. Ironic that its used as his teeth and mouth. He has lost his eye too.  Left eye again. The passive eye. Left hemisphere. The receptive opening.  The periscope of the brain.







The Archangel Michael, the right hand or sword of God. Notice the orb with cross extended that he holds in his hand it looks a little on the Venusian side. He also has the fish of pisces on a string behind his head. They could also be seen as two serpent heads or two phallus.  Try to find the alpha and the omega behind his head and the crosses or x's.  Notice in the coins to follow the same archetypes and symbols are there. What is the connection with Michael and Water? Why would he row his boat ashore?

He is green in color like the green man or he has two horns and One eye. Either this is an obvious sexual connotation or a symbol of greed. WE all know that Disney pictures have little Freudian slips all throughout  them.

Mars and Venus Symbols.



The turbulent sea behind the orb. The Ocean or primordial womb. The Tau or Serpent cross extends from another orb, keeping with the symbol of Venus theme. This orb could be seen as Agape or will or the current. The bond that ties and connects all. It could be seen as the lost eye of Odin or Osiris.  It could be seen as the Fates (Moirai)     : The Daughters of Necessity 

The Goddess of Necessity, Themis, brought forth three lovely daughters, known as the Moirai (Fates). All living things must eventually submit to these divine daughters of Zeus and Themis. Their names are: Koltho (Clotho), Lakhesis (Lachesis) and Atropos.

 

Klotho spins the thread of life, Lakhesis determines the length of the thread and Atropos cuts the thread when the proper time has come for death. They are also called the Moirai to denote their descent from Moira, the original goddess of Fate. They are not to be confused with the Furies, who are the daughters of Nyx (Night). They laugh at our feeble attempts to cheat them because they always prevail. They are also known as the Moiras or Keras.

 

They are often confused with the Roman goddesses, the Morae.

This Orb could be seen as the Delphi Oracle of Pythia (typhon or python, notice all the serpents  or a crystal ball. It could be seen and of the Orphic Mysteries and pulls Pluto back into the story.

There are two serpents in this picture.  One on the cross denoting the path of the serpent and the Phallus. He has an anchor or a mars symbol in his tail.  The other serpent is coming out of the cave. The cave is an archetype of the underworld or going back to the womb it is also a symbol of the Jade Gate or Yonic area. There is also a small symbol of venus above the cave. This is definitely a representation of th lover's card or sexual alchemy.  This could also be seen as the caduceus again and pull in Mercury.  At the top of the cross there is some grape bunches and palm leaves.  There is a Horse coming out of the cave on the right.

Here is a naval patch of an anchor. Look at the bottom or the anchor, two horns or two serpents or two Phallic symbols. The rope is serpent shaped denoting the path of the serpent or the path of the lightening or kundalini. The circle or orb holding the rope makes this symbol parallel the venus symbol again. It is tied with abyss or sea. It a symbol of water or sailing.

Bacchus with a tail. He is drinking from an urn or vessel and he is inside an orb. Notice his wreath around his pointed elfish ears.

Pan with his pipe and a handful of grapes. Noah was one of the first wine makers. What is the difference between Pan and Noah?  He has two horns and is half beast. He was a shepherd as well.

Pluto or Hades the Lord of the underworld with his three headed guardian dog.

Poseidon with his chariot of seahorses and trident staff which also are pointed like the anchor or an arrow or ray of light. He is the God of the Sea or guardian of the underwater world or Atlantis. He has his crown and blazing golden star over his heart.

Poseidon is a god of many names. He is most famous as the god of the sea. The son of Cronus and Rhea, Poseidon is one of six siblings who eventually "divided the power of the world." His brothers and sisters include: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Zeus. The division of the universe involved him and his brothers, Zeus and Hades. Poseidon became ruler of the sea, Zeus ruled the sky, and Hades got the underworld. The other divinities attributed to Poseidon involve the god of earthquakes and the god of horses. The symbols associated with Poseidon include: dolphins, tridents, and three-pronged fish spears.

Poseidon was relied upon by sailors for a safe voyage on the sea. Many men drowned horses in sacrifice of his honor. He lived on the ocean floor in a palace made of coral and gems, and drove a chariot pulled by horses. However, Poseidon was a very moody divinity, and his temperament could sometimes result in violence. When he was in a good mood, Poseidon created new lands in the water and a calm sea. In contrast, when he was in a bad mood, Poseidon would strike the ground with a trident and cause unruly springs and earthquakes, ship wrecks, and drownings.

Poseidon was similar to his brother Zeus in exerting his power on women and in objectifying masculinity. He had many love affairs and fathered numerous children. Poseidon once married a Nereid, Amphitrite, and produced Triton who was half-human and half-fish. He also impregnated the Gorgon Medusa to conceive Chrysaor and Pegasus, the flying horse. The rape of Aethra by Poseidon resulted in the birth of Theseus; and he turned Caeneus into a man, at her request, after raping her. Another rape involved Amymone when she tried to escape from a satyr and Poseidon saved her. Other offspring of Poseidon include: Eumolpus, the Giant Sinis, Polyphemus, Orion, King Amycus, Proteus, Agenor and Belus from Europa, Pelias, and the King of Egypt, Busiris. 

One of the most notorious love affairs of Poseidon involves his sister, Demeter. Poseidon pursued Demeter and to avoid him she turned herself into a mare. In his lust for her, Poseidon transformed himself into a stallion and captured her. Their procreation resulted in a horse, Arion. Poseidon is Greek for "Husband" (possibly of wheat), and therefore it is thought that he and Demeter (goddess of wheat) are a good match because they reign as the god and goddess of fertility.

Another infamous story of Poseidon involves the competition between him and the goddess of war, Athena, for the city of Athens. To win the people of the city over, Poseidon threw a spear at the ground and produced the Spring at the Acropolis. However, Athena won as the result of giving the people of Athens the olive tree. In his anger over the decision, Poseidon flooded the Attic Plain. Eventually, Athena and Poseidon worked together by combining their powers. Even though Poseidon was the god of horses, Athena built the first chariot. Athena also built the first ship to sail on the sea over which Poseidon ruled.

Poseidon often used his powers of earthquakes, water, and horses to inflict fear and punishment on people as revenge. Though he could be difficult and assert his powers over the gods and mortals, Poseidon could be cooperative and it was he who helped the Greeks during the Trojan War. Poseidon is an essential character in the study of Greek mythology.

He looks pretty solar phallic in this picture.  He has his four horses possible allusion to the four horsemen of the end times.

Thor's Hammer

Mjolnir is often represented with a bent handle (see the myth below). The rune Tiwaz, usually thought to be a symbol of the god Tyr, is thought by some to represent Thor's hammer. Mjolnir may also mean fertility, the phallus that impregnates the earth.

Sometimes Thor's Hammer is like a "boomerang". Usually, it is used as normal war hammer. There may be a connection between Thor's throwing hammer and the francisca throwing axes of the Franks

Thor possessed a formidable chariot, which is drawn by two goats, belt, and iron gloves used to lift Mjolnir, Mjolnir is the focal point of many of Thor's adventures.

        Mjollnir was Thor's magic golden hammer. The hammer came about when Loki cut off the hair of Thors goddess wife Sif. To save his life from the angry thunder god, Loki traveled to the land of the dwarfs where the Sons of Ivaldi made new hair for Sif out of stands of magical gold . They also made a magical golden long boat for Frey and the magical golden war spear Gungnir for Odin the All-father. On the way back to Asgard, Loki visited the dwarfs Brokk and Eitri and entered a dangerous bet. Loki bet that his gifts for the gods from the Sons of Ivaldi where better than any gifts that Brokk and Eitri could make, and offered his head should he loose.  What is the significance of the hair? Isn't using a hair an accurate way to screen someone's DNA?  The serpent twined double helix of genetic code or creation. Although these people who believed in the myths had no technology to back up their stories, science now shows why there were all these different parables.  You just have to have the right type of sight to see the connections.

"Mjolnir" simply means "mealer" referring to its pulverizing effect. It is related to words such as the Icelandic verbs mölva (to crush) and mala (to grind), but similar words, all stemming from the Proto-Indo-European root melə can be found in almost all European languages, e.g. the Slavic melvo (grain to be ground) and molotu (hammer), the Dutch meel (meal), the Russian Молот (molot - hammer), the Greek μύλος (mylos - mill) and the Latin malleus (hammer) as well as the Latin mola (mill). The English meal, mill and maul are direct relatives, while mallet and molar arrived via Latin. It has been suggested that although the name reflects Mjolnir's awesome powers it might also allude to Thor's agricultural nature, as he was primarily worshipped by farmers. An alternative theory suggests that Mjolnir might be related to the Russian word молния (molniya) and the Welsh word mellt (both words being translated as "lightning"). This second theory parallels with the idea that Thor, being a god of thunder, therefore might have used lightning as his weapon.

This emperor has a pony tail with ribbons and Horn. He probably had an affinity towards Bacchus.  The tails looks like a sailor in a ship.

She is the wife of Cepheus, the King of Ethiopia (the Phoenician kingdom, not the modern country), was beautiful, arrogant, and vain, and these latter two characteristics led to her downfall. The boast of Cassiopeia was that both she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than all the Nereids, the sea nymphs, daughters of Nereus, the sea god. This brought the wrath of Poseidon, ruling god of the sea, upon the kingdom of Ethiopia (differing accounts state that either Cetus, the sea monster, on Poseidon's instructions, was to destroy the land, or that the whole country was to be flooded). Trying to avert such a fate, Cepheus and Cassiopeia consulted a wise oracle, who told them that the only way to appease the sea gods was to sacrifice their daughter. Accordingly, Andromeda was chained to a rock at the sea's edge, and left there to helplessly await her fate at the mercy of the sea monster. But Perseus arrived in time and saved Andromeda. Poseidon considered that Cassiopeia should not escape punishment entirely, and placed her in the heavens in such a position that as she circles the celestial pole she is upside-down for half the time.

Her name in Greek is Κασσιεπεια, which means "she whose words excel".

In Roman mythology, Concordia was the goddess of agreement, understanding, and marital harmony. Her Greek version is Harmonia, and the Harmonians and some Discordians equate her with Aneris. Her opposite is Discordia (or the Greek Eris).
